A pouch dispenser is an automated machine that organises and seals a patient’s medication into time-stamped pouches, improving accuracy and making administration easier for both patients and carers.

How many medications can the system handle?

Depending on what system you opt for, the smallest machine (MINDOSE) can handle up to 8 medication simultaneously through its universal canisters with additional capacity provided through the DTA. Our Proud NEO 400 machine has the largest capacity storing up to 400 calibrated canisters at any given time along with 8 universal canisters which can operate simultaneously. The Proud NEO 400 also has a DTA tray to further enhance this capacity.

Can pouch dispensers cope with brand changes and shortages in medications?

Yes. With Variable or Universal Canisters, pharmacists can recalibrate or swap medications quickly without ordering new hardware.

How are pouches labelled?

Each pouch includes the patient’s name, dose time, medication list, and tablet descriptions all printed directly during the dispensing process.

Is pouch dispensing safe for care homes?

Extremely. Pouches reduce medication errors and can integrate with eMAR Plus for added traceability and assurance during drug rounds.
